one million pipes on a roof

After three tries this year (rain and tardiness thwarted my first two visits) i was finally successful in reaching the roof of the Met to mingle with this masterpiece of plumbing by a favorite of mine, Mr. Roxy Paine

one million spectacles

Dear Music,
I'm late, but i'm back with a new hero.

Last night Jeffrey (on Paul Jacobsen's urging and jealousy) obtained free tickets to Spectacle, Elvis Costello's TV show, about songwriting. Its filmed in the famous Apollo theater of Harlem. The following clip is just for an example the interviewing that went on in addition to the concerts (i did not see the police).

The line up: JOHN PRINE - LYLE LOVETT - RAY LaMONTAGNE
Theme: one man (singer/songwriter) alone in the spotlight.

This song blew me away.

Lyle, always the gentleman, looked very sharp and complimented others sincerely profusely.

Mr. LaMontange, possibly even shyer than Michael Stipe (was).

All four legends kept talking about this one legend:
Townes Van Zandt, maybe my next hero.
